ABC Wednesday

O is for...
Oenothera
(At least I'm pretty sure that's what this flower is.) These photos I pulled from my files and were taken a couple years ago as the flower is nowhere near blooming right now!

"en-o-THEE-ra." This is groundcover spreads rapidly and loves its baking hot spot in our front yard. We do little to care for these pink flowered bushes and wack them back often as they do try to take over. The following picture was taken of the butterfly but gives you a better idea of what the plant looks like.

Visit ABC Wednesday for more Os.

Such a beautiful flower, must make a spectaculare ground cover. And as for flowers not blooming yet, i still have snow in my backyard! But the crocuses are in full glory in my front yard.

Love the post of your cutie and her flowers. Nice choice of flower with a name I'm not familiar with.

Great shots! I love the kind of plant that manages to take care of itself and look beautiful at the same time!

Beautiful picture and beautiful little flower! I would love some ground cover that was drought-resistant, but I wonder if our country is too cool for them? I shall have to look into it!
