Arbor Day

Today is Idaho's Arbor Day. (Did you know each state gets to pick when to celebrate Arbor Day?) In honor of this occasion, here are some pictures of Impressive Trees. A tree doesn't have to be large to have character, but it does certainly add something to its presence. I always feel a big tree has something to say about life, endurance, strength, and how to "bloom where you're planted." So enjoy these images.

The final picture is one I took several years ago on a walk by Smith Rock, Oregon. The trail leads under a huge Ponderosa and there was a bench placed there to stop and rest, listen to the wind in its long needles. I looked up into this tree and knew it told me something about perserverance, patience.
