Today's Flowers

Sunflowers grow wild along the roadsides here. For me, the first cheerful bursts of yellow along the roads are a signal that school will be starting soon. Each plant is a mass of blooms--summer at full maturity. They continue their show for a couple of months, even as the days begin to shift into autumn.
They grow profusely with help from no one.
They grow everywhere--from the edge of the interstate to the alley behind our house.
I like having these sunflowers all around.

Sunflowers grow along the roads here too, usually in spots where I can't pull over to capture them. I finally got some great shots at the fair. I love the pic with that precious, bright little face behind the bright flowers. Adorable!! :-)
