We were given a generous house warming gift, and now we have beautiful trees in our front yard. First is K supervising the planting of the American Sweetgum. The picture makes it look like the tree is in the pool, but it's not. The pool was being used to hold dirt from the hole and to mix in the compost.
Here is the new look. The tree on the left is a Shirofugen Cherry. We're looking forward to seeing it bloom in the spring. The Sweetgum on the right is a large-growing shade tree that turns red, yellow and orange in the fall. And, you can't see it in this picture, but we also have one more tree planted in front--a small Dogwood seedling on the far right of the house. I picked up this tree for a couple dollars at a local plant sale.
