--My original plan for L fell through, so I gathered what L items I could and arranged this ludicrous layout.

Okay - now I want to know what your original plan was :) Your post made me think of the L song that Ernie and Bert sang on Sesame Street (don't know the actual name). Here is a snippet: Lalala - Linoleum! No, Bert, listen to me - L is such a lovely letter, for words like licorice that lace the letter L, light up your face for words like lalalalala! With me!
