We had a Christmas serendipity last night--carolers. We were just getting the kids ready for bed when B was the first to hear voices singing outside. We quick bundled the kids up in blankets and went out on the front porch to listen. There were about 20 people--I'm guessing from their exuberance that they were high schoolers and from their song choices and harmonies that they were a choir. They stood in the middle of the dark street and let their song fill the neighborhood. It was brief but great; the kids were entranced. It gave a lift to the night and now K and T know first hand what Christmas caroling is.
